Years Teaching a FYS: I taught my first FYS in Fall 2009, and have taught them off and on since then.

I teach a First-Year Seminar because I love working with undergraduates, challenging them to think about topics in different ways, and seeing the possibilities that are in front of them.

As director of the Iowa Center for Research by Undergraduates (ICRU), I help teach the Discovering Research seminar, providing entering students a way to learn how research drives discovery across the disciplines, plays a critical role in shaping the University of Iowa, and engages our students, staff, and faculty.
