First-Year Seminars create unique opportunities for students and instructors to build important relationships and, because of this, First-Year Seminar instructors are often the first to notice when a student might be struggling academically or personally. If this happens, instructors are encouraged to connect students with staff on campus who can help them address these issues early so they don't remain a barrier to the student's wellbeing and success.
