Spring Information Sessions

Spring 2025 Sessions
Dates/Times TBA

In the spring, two types of information sessions are offered- sessions for “experienced instructors” and sessions for “emerging (or newer) instructors.” Instructors may self-select into whichever session(s) you feel is best for you. Content for each session type generally covers the same topics, but in different ways to better meet the needs of instructors.

Instructors are invited via Outlook invitations, with zoom links included, and may self-select which session(s) you would like to attend.

All First-Year Seminar instructors are expected to attend an information session each spring semester (after proposed seminars have been approved and been communicated to instructors) as well as an enrichment session at the start of each fall semester. These sessions create opportunities to share relevant information with and among instructors and contribute to a more meaningful and consistent First-Year Seminar experience, both for instructors as well as students.

Unable to attend one of these sessions or need to switch sessions? Contact angela-lamb@uiowa.edu.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Angie Lamb in advance at (319) 336-2062 or angela-lamb@uiowa.edu.

Fall Enrichment Sessions

Fall 2024 Sessions
Thursday, September 26, 2024
3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Instructors should check their email for an Outlook calendar invite and Zoom link.
Because this fall's FYS Instructors Enrichment Session will feature a panel discussion, only one session will be offered.

Fall enrichment sessions are designed for all instructors, often with multiple options available to choose from.

Instructors are invited via Outlook invitations, with zoom links included, and may self-select which session(s) you would like to attend, when multiple sessions are available.
